California: compare commercial offers with the state’s lender network
California has a statewide lender-matching route as well as regional community lenders. The useful comparison is the actual offer: cash you receive, total repayment, payment frequency and the conditions attached. A lender match is the beginning of that process, not an approval.
| Provider or program | What it covers | First check |
|---|---|---|
| California Small Business Loan Match | Statewide introductions to enrolled lenders | Complete the matching questionnaire; underwriting comes later. |
| IBank loan guarantees | Eligible lender financing across California | Discuss the project with a lender or FDC. |
| Accessity | Startup and business lending in listed Southern California counties | Check location, repayment capacity and startup income. |
Selected routes, not a ranking of every lender. Limits and availability should be confirmed directly.
IBank guarantees: lender underwriting still applies
IBank’s Small Business Loan Guarantee Program supports lending throughout California. Its page lists startup costs, working capital, equipment-related business needs, construction and expansion among the routes it supports. Credit qualifications depend on the lender.
Financial Development Corporations help process guarantees. Ask the lender or an FDC how your project fits. The business remains the borrower; a state guarantee supporting the lender does not erase the debt or make approval automatic.
Starting a California business with little or no revenue
Accessity’s FAQ says it works with startups that have another income source, repayment ability and industry experience. Its listed service area covers Los Angeles, Orange, Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ventura counties.
Confirm the operating location before applying. A Bay Area or Sacramento business should not assume that a Southern California program serves its address. For a statewide search, use the lender-matching route below and check each proposed lender’s geography.
Build a startup request from written quotes and a realistic opening schedule. A home-service business may be able to phase equipment purchases; a premises-based business may face deposits and improvements before it earns its first dollar. Explain how you will cover that gap without treating hoped-for first-month sales as guaranteed income.
California Small Business Loan Match: an official comparison route
California Small Business Loan Match is provided by IBank’s Small Business Finance Center. It connects business owners with lenders enrolled in its Loan Guarantee Program, at no cost for matching. Its questionnaire does not require a credit check; the subsequent lender application is a separate process.
Use the results to choose a lender to contact, then ask for its loan criteria and document list. Save the quote and compare it with any commercial marketplace offer on the same borrowing amount and repayment period. Being introduced to a lender is not evidence that its loan is the cheapest or that you qualify.
Commercial financing alongside California’s lender network
California Loan Match and a commercial marketplace are separate places to begin a lender search. Save the written terms from whichever lenders you approach. With an Accessity offer, reconcile the approved amount with the cash remaining after closing costs.
Fora Financial: check fit before applying
For an established California business, Fora provides another commercial option to assess alongside an IBank-enrolled lender. Request the net deposit after fees so you can compare the same usable amount.
- Published starting criteria: 6+ months operating and a 570+ credit score.
- Its loan page lists $240,000 annual revenue; its FAQ says $17,000 monthly. Confirm the applicable minimum.
- Small-business-loan payments are daily or weekly. Approval depends on underwriting.

Our loan comparison guide explains repayment structures. Use the project funding worksheet guidance to check whether the net proceeds will cover your opening costs.
Compare the amount deposited, not just the headline loan size
Fees can change how much usable cash a loan provides. Accessity, for example, says closing costs are deducted from approved proceeds. Ask every provider for both the approved amount and the amount that will reach your bank account. A financing package that leaves a shortfall may not complete the project.
Prepare bank statements, tax records when available, current financial statements and a list of other debts. For a startup, add the plan, supplier quotes and the source of personal living expenses. Label projections clearly so they cannot be mistaken for completed sales.
Use the California business setup guide alongside the budget. Keep registration, operating approvals and insurance separate from borrowing costs. Ask your lender what business records it needs before paying for additional services.
Our California SBA loan figures describe a separate federal lending channel. They do not measure IBank approvals.
Compare a California match with a written offer
- A California Loan Match introduction comes before the lender’s credit decision. Ask what additional application is required.
- With Accessity, include deducted closing costs when checking whether the deposit covers your purchase.
- Put repayment dates beside your expected customer receipts before accepting a commercial offer.

California business loan questions
Is SuperMoney the same as California Loan Match?
They are separate services. California Small Business Loan Match connects owners with IBank-enrolled lenders. SuperMoney is a commercial comparison service. A match from either route still requires you to review the lender’s eligibility and written terms.
Is California Small Business Loan Match a lender?
It is IBank’s lender-matching tool. A participating lender handles the subsequent loan process and decides whether to approve financing.
Does Accessity lend throughout California?
Its FAQ lists eight Southern California counties. Confirm that your operating address is within its service area.
Does an IBank guarantee mean I do not have to repay?
No. The guarantee supports lender financing. Your repayment obligations and any guarantees you sign remain governed by your loan agreement.
