Enter your job costs

Every starting number is an illustrative assumption, not a recommended price, wage or profit target. Replace the inputs with your own costs and scope.

The hourly cost should include wages or owner labor, employer costs and benefits you actually budget. Every crew member is assumed to work the same entered hours; use a weighted average rate if pay differs. If hours differ, divide total paid worker-hours by crew size to obtain the per-person average.

Travel/setup hours are paid time; vehicle fuel and hauling charges are dollars. Count each cost once. Diesel hit a record $6.53 a gallon in September 2026, so check the current price in your region in diesel and gas prices by state. For recurring work, calculate one representative visit and price seasonal or periodic tasks separately.

The extra-hour scenario adds one paid hour for every crew member, holding materials and equipment charges fixed. The materials scenario changes only materials by 20%. Adjust other costs separately if a delay also extends equipment rental or disposal. Both scenarios keep your proposed price unchanged.

Labor = crew size × (on-site + paid travel/setup hours per person) × loaded hourly cost. Job cost adds equipment, materials, disposal and overhead. Target price = job cost ÷ (1 − margin). These are user-input estimates, not local market rates; results exclude sales tax collected, income tax, payment delays and costs not entered.

Before quoting, review how to get commercial landscaping contracts and landscaping insurance coverage. Use the state landscaping guides for licensing requirements.

Use the estimate before committing to a price

Measure the actual property and specify visit frequency, access, materials and disposal. Include owner labor and paid travel once. The calculated margin only covers the costs entered; it does not establish a competitive local price.
