One course now, national and Maryland exam portions next
Maryland’s standard starting point is a 60-hour course from an approved education provider. After completion, you can schedule the PSI exam. You need to pass both the national and state portions before applying for your license, according to the Maryland Real Estate Commission’s licensing FAQ.
That makes review time a useful part of your course choice. Build a routine for learning the general real estate concepts and keep track of the Maryland rules that need their own attention. Colibri’s practice tools can help you find topics to revisit as you approach exam day.
Maryland tuition and package differences
We would start with Exam Preparation at $227.40. The $60 increase over The Basics adds simulated exams, flashcards and readiness tracking. It gives you a practical way to review after finishing the 60-hour course.
| Package | Price | Included | Why choose it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Basics | $167.40 Regular $279 | Required 60-hour education and instructor support. | You are comfortable making your own exam-review plan. |
| Exam PreparationOur suggested starting point | $227.40 Regular $379 | The course plus simulated exams, flashcards and a readiness tracker. | You want coursework and exam practice in one package. |
| Exam Preparation Plus | $269.40 Regular $449 | Exam Preparation with live instructor Q&A and Exam Cram webinars. | You want guided review for topics that are not clicking yet. |
| Ultimate Learning | $335.40 Regular $559 | The Plus tools, a printed textbook and career resources. | You prefer reading on paper and want additional career preparation. |
At the checked prices, Plus adds live review for $42 above Exam Preparation. Ultimate adds another $66. Choose those extras according to your learning preferences; all four options include the same 60-hour education.
Plan the handoff from school to PSI
Colibri’s Maryland catalog identifies a proctored course final. Check the school’s appointment process when you enroll, then keep the licensing exam as a separate step in your plan. Practice questions help with preparation; they do not replace either assessment.
If you set aside 15 coursework hours each week, 60 hours occupies four weeks before additional revision or exam scheduling. If your week is already full, allow more weeks and check that your planned finish fits the package’s course-access deadline.
- Work through the course and complete the school assessment. Keep your completion documentation.
- Schedule PSI and prepare for both portions. Review missed practice questions by subject instead of simply repeating scores.
- Follow the licensing instructions after passing. The commission says its registration number and online application steps arrive by email, normally within five to seven business days.
Know what happens after you pass
Maryland allows one year from the exam date to apply for a license. For an active license, arrange your broker affiliation as part of moving into practice. Our Maryland real estate agent guide takes you through the application and brokerage steps beyond the course.
The tuition above pays for the chosen school package. Use the separate Maryland licensing cost section to budget for the exam, application and other startup expenses.
Is this the right Maryland course purchase?
I am starting from scratch. Which product do I need?
Choose a package containing the full 60-hour Maryland prelicense course. The packages listed here include that education; continuing education and standalone exam preparation serve different stages.
Should I pay for live review?
Choose Plus if instructor Q&A and scheduled exam review will help you work through difficult material. Check the times first. If you prefer independent practice, Exam Preparation already supplies the practice tools.
